They’re easier to use than their predecessors, they offer
much more output and they really set the standard. The new Behringer PMP mixers
are a statement to the competition. These new, German-made mixers feature the
latest Class D technology. Class D amplifiers are also known as switching amps.
A characteristic of this is that the audio signal is set into a series of
pulses using the appropriate method so that the amplifier can operate
‘switched’. This way the switching elements (transistors) are only either fully
insulating or fully isolating. These are the two stages where the minimum power
loss is achieved. Therefore, the degree of efficiency compared to Class A,
Class B or Class AB amplifiers is much higher, whilst heat loss is
Due to this lower heat loss the weight of the amplifier is
also significantly lower as no cooling element needs to be built-in, making the
Behringer PMP 4000 ideal for transporting. It’s hugely important to Behringer
that no power is lost. With its 2 x 800W stereo power (1600W bridged) and a
24-bit stereo effects processor with 100 studio-quality presets, the PMP 4000
is at the top of its class.
The new Behringer PMP amplifiers offer the options of 2 x
800W stereo, 2 x 800W dual-mono (delivers a mono sum signal to one side of the
amplifier and a mono monitor signal to the other) and 1600W bridged mode. To
avoid feedback, the Behringer PMP 4000, as with all other PMP models, features
the FBQ Feedback Detection System that instantly registers critical frequencies
and helps to remove any feedback. The 16-channel mixer section features 8 mono
and 4 stereo channels as well as separate CD/tape in and outputs. For vocals,
there are 8 first-class XENYX mic preamps with switchable +48V phantom power
for connecting condenser microphones.
Be at the forefront of mixer technology! Leave your
microphone preamps at home – now you can take studio quality with you on the
road for those small to medium-sized performances that require an intuitive,
easy-to-use mixer. The Behringer PMP4000 delivers all this performance weighing
in at just over 10kg!
